Bognet Praises President Trump’s Election Security Lawsuit; Slams Governor Wolf’s Vote-By-Mail Scheme

HAZLETON— Today, Jim Bognet, Former Trump Administration Official and Republican Nominee for Pennsylvania’s Eighth Congressional District, made the following statement in response to President Donald J. Trump’s campaign lawsuit to prevent Governor Tom Wolf’s administration from limiting in-person voting in favor of an unsecured and unmonitored vote-by-mail system:

“I support the measures President Trump’s campaign is taking to ensure the integrity of voting in the Commonwealth. As our campaign has most recently experienced – like many others here in Pennsylvania – the poorly-executed vote-by-mail scheme concocted by Governor Wolf led to unacceptable delays in certifying our primary results. As I speak to voters on the campaign trail, they are deeply concerned that this current system will produce rampant fraud and uncertainty in November’s election. For these reasons, I fully support the President in securing the sanctity of our right to vote. We can and must modify the laws to prevent fraud and unnecessary delays in counting the votes in November, and to prevent Governor Wolf from arbitrarily changing the rules to favor his preferred candidates.”
