Bognet First Candidate To Qualify For Ballot, Take On Matt Cartwright In PA-08

Yesterday, Jim Bognet was the first GOP candidate in the 8th Congressional District to qualify for the ballot to take on Matt Cartwright. While Bognet was the final candidate to enter the race just three weeks ago, he was the first candidate to meet Pennsylvania’s requirements to earn a spot on the ballot.

Bognet raised over $150,000 in the first two weeks of his campaign and gathered over 2,000 signatures in the first 15 days of signature gathering. Bognet doubled the signature requirement threshold of 1,000 during the campaign’s first submission on Thursday afternoon in Harrisburg.

“Our campaign is humbled by the outpouring of support across PA-08. The hard work of my family, friends, and our amazing team of volunteers across the district has enabled me to be the first Republican candidate in the 8th Congressional District to qualify for the ballot to take on Matt Cartwright in November,” Jim Bognet said. “It is going to take organization strength, energy, and excitement to send Nancy Pelosi’s Lap Dog Matt Cartwright packing, and we look forward to turning Northeastern Pennsylvania Republican Red.”

Jim Bognet is a former Trump administration appointee who will fight for the Trump agenda against Nancy Pelosi and her Lap Dog Matt Cartwright. The first three weeks of Bognet’s campaign for Congress have been marked by the rapid coalescing of community support needed to turn PA-08 red and help re-elect President Trump.
